5 Crochet Mistakes Beginners Make

Top 5 Crochet Beginner Mistakes

1.Edges Curling: If your crochet project is curling at the edges, it can often be caused by tension or using the wrong crochet hook size.  Try relaxing your tension and checking your yarn and hook recommendations.
2.Gaps between the stitches: Gaps can happen when your tension is too loose or you're working into the wrong part of the stitch. Try tightening your tension and ensure your working into the correct stitch.

3.Stitches are difficult to see: Choose a lightly coloured yarn or a plain yarn. For beginners I would suggest using Aran or Chunky yarn for those first stitches

4. Too many stitches: Count your stitches carefully, always double check your stitch count along the way as you may have added stitches. Stitch markers are a great way of helping you keep count.

5. Too few stitches: You may have miscounted your stitches or missed some stitches. Again stitch markers will help you keep count.
