My 5 Top Tips for Crochet Beginners
Learning to crochet can feel a little overwhelming at first, but I promise it gets easier with practice. Every crocheter started with their very first chain!
Here are my top five tips to help you enjoy your journey.
1. Don't buy every crochet hook
When you're starting out you don't need a huge collection of hooks.
I recommend beginning with one comfortable hook that suits your project. If you're not sure what size, check your yarn label it will have a guide.

2. Choose the right yarn
Smooth, light-coloured yarn is much easier to learn with than fluffy or dark yarn because you can clearly see each stitch.
I love using quality yarn such as Stylecraft, making learning more enjoyable rather than frustrating.

3. It's OK if your stitches aren't perfect
One of the biggest worries beginners have is that their crochet do3snt look neat straight away.
Mine didn't either!
Crochet is a skill, every row helps you to improve.

4. Practice little and often
Even 15 minutes a day will build your confidence. You don't need hours of free time to become a confident crocheter.
5. Don't be afraid to ask for help
Whether you're joining one of my workshops or trying crochet yourself, you're never alone!
If you get stuck, just ask! Drop me a message on Instagram or send me an email ( helloiminstitchesco@gmail.com ) Always happy to help 😃
Sometimes one little tip is all you need.
My biggest piece of advice 💗
Don't compare your first project to someone else's hundredth.
Crochet should be relaxing, enjoyable and fun.
Celebrate every stitch you make.
